SUMMER SCENTS

When it comes to sharing your fragrance with others, I think NOT. Do NOT share! At least I don’t and look at me,Jenna and the Giant Apple, I share everything. My signature scent is one thing I keep to myself because it’s highly personal. Also, I love-it-so and selfishly don’t want anyone else to wear it. There, I said it. Here’s how I discovered the same fragrance I have worn since High School:
- H.S. Class trip to NYC
- No chaperones
- Students are given suggested landmarks to see
- I decide to spend my afternoon at Henri Bendel, NYC’s premier shopping destination for luxury cosmetics & special goods
- Fine looking gentleman at door asks to sprtiz some on my wrist
- Hesitate but accept to be polite. “Sure, why not?”
- Fall in love with New York
- Fall in love with the (?) fragrance
- Walk around New York all day
- Visit private viewing room at Tiffany & Co. (Don’t ask me how I did that. I won’t share that either).
- Go back to Henri Bendel to purchase fragrance
- Almost miss bus
- Wear (?) every single day for the next 10 years…
So I will not share that secret scent but I am in the market for something else to try and I am OK with sharing my pitch hitter. Below are a few fragrances I am considering that I guarantee you have not heard of until now… so at least I am offering up something. ;)

demure & decadent
Pilar and Lucy, The Exact Friction of Stars Eau de Parfum, $58.00
Please note(s): luscious vanilla, coconut, orange, chocolate & clove
Why is it scensational? My trademark fragrance is a vanilla musk mixed with a mystery fruit. I love musk fragrances, they’re incredibly sexy, rich and when coupled with a sweet (like fruit or chocolate), it’s the perfect combo. This one is delectable, musky & chocolaty and boasts the warmth of vanilla. Unfortunately, they repackaged and nixed the adorable frou-frou packaging so I’m looking for an older bottle on ebay.

fresh & fruity
Antonia’s Flowers, Floret Eau de Parfum $140
Please note(s): living sweet pea, fresh lily of the valley, marigold, apricot, rose & tuberose
Why is it scensational? This sweet scent is so fresh, clean and pretty. When I worked for celebrity esthetician Sonya Dakar in college, rapper Eve Jeffers was a client. I would know she entered the building from downstairs because her fragrance would fill the stairway and climb to our office before she even reached the floor. I know that sounds like it would be overpowering but it’s not. You always knew when she was nearby thanks to the creamy sweet scent of peonies and other fresh florals. I had to ask her what it was and she shared. Wow, isn’t she nice?

soft & sophisticated
Diptyque, Eau Rose eau de toilette, $98.00
Please note(s): fresh rose petals, bergamot, blackcurrant, lychee, hedione, geranium, cedar, musk & honey.
Why is it scensational? It will make your heart skip a beat, the scent is so incredibly soft, distinctly feminine and romantic. The blossoming notes of Turkish rose, musk and honey combine creating an airy, light and brightening floral blend. There’s just a hint -and only a hint- of fruit for a touch of whimsy that won’t overpower the true rose accord at the heart of the fragrance. This exercise helped me decide which new summer scent I am going to pick up, and this is the winner.
Which fragrance do you wear? Tweet me @TheGoods729. (I don’t honestly expect you to tell me).
Secretive,
Jenna
